Halloween Decorating: The Basics

Halloween Decorating: The Basics

When should you decorate for Halloween?

It seems that the most popular time of the year to start decorating for Halloween here in the United States is within the first two weeks of October. I don’t disagree, however, I have neighbors who start putting up decorations as early as late September! (If Starbucks can serve their pumpkin spice latte, then I say, you can start decking your home out in spooktacular flare.)

Where should you decorate for Halloween?

I am always a fan of getting the most bang for my buck when it comes to decorations (actually, that applies to most things, not just decorations...), so I typically put decorations where they will be seen the most. For me, that means I put Halloween decor in the front (the front yard... the front porch… the front door… and even in my front entryway.)

What is the most common Halloween decoration?

In the Bergeson household, the most common Halloween décor is the classic pumpkin. We carve fun faces into them and place them on the front porch. We fall short on the blood and gore décor. It is just not my style. I recently moved to a neighborhood where Halloween is a big deal. I am talking front yards full of creepy clowns and life size blow ups for ghosts and black cats.

Does Liliana & Liam have any great metal Halloween decorations?

Why yes we do! We have quite the Boo-tastic sign that reads "Happy Halloween". It is adorned with the classic creepy cat, flying bat, and carved pumpkin.  Perhaps the perfect Halloween decor, since it is powder coated and made to last. It is one piece of decor that will last year over year. By hanging this on your door or front porch, you can offer a spooky welcome to those trick or treaters who make their way to your house. This is one of our custom made signs. You choose the color and the size, and we make the sign.
