Every year, it is a tradition to set new goals or resolutions for the upcoming year. A fresh start to the year, a new beginning. However, by this time in January, most people who have set new year’s resolutions have already given up on them. Are you one of those people? Have you already set aside the goals you made just a few weeks ago?
I wanted to take a moment today to offer a bit of encouragement to you… Don’t give up. There is a reason that you set your new year’s resolution. There is a goal that you have. A dream that you want. A change that you want to see in your life. In order for you to achieve what you want, you must not give up. You may need to pivot or adjust but don’t give up. Never give up.
One of my favorite quotes for Martin Luther King, Jr is, “If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run, then walk, if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Be intentional with how you move forward. Life is going to continue in one way or another. It is okay if you fail or mess up, as long as you pick yourself up and make the next step count.
Some people choose a word of the year. A word that they want to weave into their everyday life. My word was intentional. If you strive to be intentional with your time, to not give up on what you want, but to adjust as you need to in order for you to get closer to your dreams… do it!
